RIP Possum

Possum died today after what seemed a very uncomfortable time. We believe she ate a poisoned rat (or bird) and in turn, got poisoned herself. At the beginning of the week it looked like she was trying to vomit but her jaw was not quite right. Then as it went on she got more and more dehydrated and her mouth drier until the tip of her tongue was almost solid from no moisture. Esther took her in to the vet who gave her a drip and she recovered somewhat wand was eating OK and drinking. But when she came home, she started to cough up blood which we were told later, were from her lungs. She went back to the vet for a blood transfusion and seemed to be recovering but died over night. We buried her under the Kowhai tree that we got to remember Audrey. She was a lovely friend and will be missed by us all. RIP Possum. XXX.
