After a bad start to the holidays where the van wouldn't start on Saturday morning, we were finally on the way to Havelock. The journey up was pretty non eventful, stopping just for a bite to eat.
Sunday evening, Chris and Becs came over for a chat with Chris bringing some of his homebrew. I guess it's just me but everyone else's brew seems to taste better than mine.
I decided that it would be nice to go to Picton on Monday to have a look around and to let the kids play out in the park. The rest of the week was looking grim. So once there we went to the park and let the kids play on the swings and slides. They had a go on the train and merry-go-round there, we had fish 'n' chips for lunch and the kids went back and played whilst we had a coffee. On the way down to check on the kids, Jim slipped on the steps and fell about 8 steps down to the bottom of the entrance of the park, hitting his head at the bottom of the steps. Gaby called an ambulance which arrived quickly and after a clean up, they took Jim into Blenheim hospital for a check. He came out with a clean bill of health. So rather an eventful day.
Wednesday and we went to Blenheim. I was looking for a case and a screen protector for my iPod, which I found. We had a wander around the shops and then to the heritage museum for a wander. In the evening I was invited to a lovely play/puppet show about 'friends' by the kids.
Friday we came home. When I awoke I could hear Jamie waking. He murmured, he sniffled. He then spoke. "chilblains". "What?" I thought.
So anyway, the journey back home was uneventful. Not much traffic but a little windy. One day I'll stop on that journey in many places and take lots of photos. Unitl then, here's the rather small amount of photos from this trip.
