Following on from the last blog, if the left is selfish and the right, selfless, then I believe we need the selfish side in order for us to survive. To answer Rik's question.
I do wonder what certain drugs do to each side of the brain. Have there been tests to see. I'm sure there have but only to see what effect it has on the brain. Not to see what effect it has on left/right brainied people. Group the people into left and right first. Then do the tests.
This also starts to make me think, are arty, romantic, free spirited people more right brained and the concentrated, individualistic, logical people left brained. So are labour/ democratic politicians/ supporters left and conservative/ republican/ national right? Should they be?
As for religion, are they more spiritual people? Are they therefore more right brained?
And lastly, sex (politics and religion are done). If opposites attract, is this so that when a left and a right brained person procreate, that their offspring are more central? Should opposites attract? Is there a reason for this phrase? What happens when 2 lefties procreate, or 2 righties? Do we get exceptional people in their field?
What happens when you die? Does your right take over as perhaps it controlled when you were young as to make you feel free from worry and individualism and help "let you go"?
This has lead me down a questioning track which also makes me think of the 3 types of knowledge.
It's all very interesting (to me) and something I won't follow up on but if anyone out there has any interesting thoughts on this, I'd like to hear them.
